Hello All! My name is Lacee Gold and I am a 19 year old student. I love the warm weather and going for walks on the Appalachian Trail in my home town, Vernon. I spend most of my free time hanging out with my best friends as well as my mom and dad. I really adore animals, especially my cats. I graduated Vernon Township High School in June 2010. And since then have participated in a five week summer program at Rider University from July 11 to August 13 called the Educational Opportunity Program. In this program I took four courses; Intro to Speech Communication, Expository Writing, Race Class and Gender as well as Strategies for College Success. This was a very strictly run type program and very well prepared me for the fall semester. Rider EOP.
I am currently a freshman at Rider University. I am about to finish up my first semester and can't wait for winter vacation! This first semester has definitely been a challenge and I have spent more time than ever before preparing for all of my six classes. One of the extracurricular activities I decided to join for this first half of the year is Student Blood Council (SBC). On October 14, 2010 I helped host a blood drive in the Cavalla Room at Rider. Though I personally was not able to donate, it was a very rewarding experience and I look forward to doing it again in the future. I showed each doner exactly what forms they needed to fill out, promoted the raffle, and made sure each participant was fully hydrated and nourished after donating blood. The American Red Cross was there and doing the actual drawing of the blood. I learned a lot from just that one day of being around them. American Red Cross.
I have finally decided that I would like to major in hospitality management. I have always had interest in the culinary industry, I just love to cook and bake. But, a chef or cook is just not the right career for me. In hospitality management I have the choice of going into the restaurant or hotel sections of the field, sometimes even both if a certain hotel has a restaurant on site. Both are very intriguing to me and I can't wait to get the ball rolling. I am very friendly and love to interact with people; working as a manager in a hotel and or restaurant would be a perfect type of setting for me. In the spring of 2011 I will be transferring to Bergen County Community College where I will be enrolling in an associates program for hospitality management. In this program I will learn all about the regulations and standards of the hospitality industry. Bergen Hospitality Program.
All of these endeavors that I have accomplished in the past and even the ones I am still currently experiencing have made me into the person I am today. I have three major attributes that make up my own specific brand; I'm attentive, organized and persistent.
